Important stuff to note about your cover letter: It can contain wrong info. Maybe it says you have a degree you don't have, or that you did stuff you didn't do. Read it and make sure- it has no idea who you are or what you've done in your past, so you have to audit it. This is really just a starting place to get 80% of the work done.
